Meeting Minutes

June 16, 2009

Approval of Minutes-Jim made the motion to accept the previous meeting minutes. Terry 2nd. 15-0.

 

Treasurer’s Report-Teresa reported that as of June 9, 2009 there was $35,793.50 and with receipts totaling $6,840.54

 

Governor’s Commission-Janna reported the next Southeast Regional meeting is scheduled for Oct.30.  The fifth Friday for July will be skipped due to the CADCA conference and vacations.  There is a CADCA sponsored conference in Louisville July 27-30.  Ray will be attending the National Drug Interdiction training Aug. 17-21.

 

Tobacco Coalition- No report.

 

Presentation-A Canine Narcotics Demonstration was given by Officer Saylor.  Ray also distributed materials and discussed the 2008 Meth Laboratory Seizures for the US which showed Indiana as one of those higher ranked.

 

New Business- Kim Grizzel reported there has been a change of staff for handling project “Represent” funded by a council mini-grant.  She asked whether to try to continue with the project or return the funds.  Jon Kuss will discuss options following the meeting. Jon also reported that 9 of 10 have completed the Prime for Life program. Sharon Lawson announced Fair week begins July 11.  Kim added that CARES will be applying for the Safe Schools federal grant and will be collaborating with another school corporation possibly Orange County. Teresa announced there will be an online community assessment survey sent to council members within the coming week.
